Your adventure will begin in Nairobi before shortly heading to Samburu to settle into your accommodation and complete your first exciting game drive.
On Day two of this air safari to Samburu, you will enjoy additional game drives to see a number of rare species such as the Beisa Oryx and Grevy’s zebra, and you can also take part in additional activities like camel riding and bird walks. On day 3 you will complete one more exciting game drive before heading back to Nairobi to conclude your trip.
Samburu is the most popular reserve in northern Kenya. Wildlife viewing is good, and most big safari animals are easily spotted. The arid environment is home to a variety of north Kenya specials – both birds and mammals.
A village visit to a nearby Samburu homestead is a worthwhile activity.
Wildlife
Samburu offers great wildlife viewing and four of the Big Five are present. Rhinos are absent, but big herds of elephant cross the reserve. Of the big cats, leopards are very rewarding with some habituated individuals giving high-quality sightings. Most interesting are the northern Kenya specials including beisa oryx, lesser kudu, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, and the odd-looking gerenuk.

ITINEARY
Depart Nairobi Wilson airport –early morning flight to – Samburu National Reserve. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to-Samburu Sopa Lodge. The lodge is located at Uaso Nyiro River. Afternoon lunch game drive until evening. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.
Full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding, and guided nature and bird walks. All meals and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.
In the morning game drive and later transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi.
